It’s another preseason gameday! Sort of! Today, as a reminder, is what I’m calling Louisville City Day at the US Army Garrison at Fort Knox. Today, the squad (military term) will undergo team-building exercises, maneuvers, other macho Army stuff and then an intra-squad scrimmage on post. It’s open to the public, so if you can find your way down wide, wide Dixie Highway to the former home of most of the US’s gold reserves, then go be all you can be (Army slogan).

Speaking of being all you can be, if one of the things you want to be is a writer on this fair web page, shoot me an email with a writing sample of sorts at taylor.sorrels@gmail.com and I’ll probably let you write for us for free! In all seriousness, the more content and conversations we have about soccer in Louisville, the better it is for the game, the club we support, and the people that support it.

  • In spite of Precourt Sports Ventures efforts to muddy the soccer waters in Austin, it looks like the USL is going ahead with its venture at the Circuit of the Americas near the Texas capital.
  • I swear I’m not making this up: Scottish club Queen of the South’s backup goalkeeper had to miss a start because he was injured by a cow at his father’s farm.
  • Gambling is fun as long as you do it responsibly. If that’s your thing, Vegas has odds on the 2018 USL Cup winner, and you-know-who is second favorite at 6-1.
