Happy St. Patrick’s Day! This will probably be one of the weirder St. Patrick’s Days ever, given that there are no Irish bars to go spend your day at instead of going to work. I sincerely doubt anyone’s going to be pinching anyone anywhere for not wearing green, since that would require interpersonal contact within six feet. That was a dumb tradition, anyway.

Personally, I am going to wear green, and I’ll probably go buy some Murphy’s or something just to be festive. They might have closed bars and restaurants in Indiana and Kentucky, but liquor stores are still open for business.

  • Soccer Holdings announced their coaching staff for the Academies yesterday, which includes some familiar faces if you’ve ever been involved in the youth scene in Louisville, plus Luke Spencer and Shaun Francis if you aren’t.
  • Mockingbird Valley SC has apparently de-filliated with Fire Juniors and is re-launching their competitive club as Mockingbird Valley Premier.
  • The Athletic reports that MLS, the NWSL and the USL are going to meet to try and find a way through COVID-19 as a group. With the recommended time for self-isolation being extended seemingly daily by the Centers for Disease Control, the President, or both, the call will focus on proper protocols at team facilities and the timeline to return to full-team training. It’s nice to see some folks in soccer getting along for a change!

Today’s YouTube match of the day:

The 2018 away fixture against New York Red Bulls II, significant because it was the last match featuring The Triumvirate, Luke Spencer subbed himself into the game, and Brandon Morris began his coaching career. VAMOS MORADOS!
