After such a busy opening weekend in the USL, things have slowed down a bit in the stretches between games. Three teams in the East didn’t play last weekend: Birmingham Legion, Hartford Athletic, and Pittsburgh Riverhounds. Their opening matches will take place on Saturday.

Hounds round out roster

Bob Lilley finally put some finishing touches on his first team, signing defenders (of course) Hunter Ashworth and Patrick Bunk-Andersen. The latter is a former Toronto FC II player, which means he’s probably pretty good and also totally ignored by the technical staff in Ontario. Ashworth is a former college player on his first pro contract.

Team of the Week

No LouCity players got honors this week, though Cam Lancaster did make the bench. Phoenix’s Rufat Dadashov won Player of the Week honors for scoring a hat trick in Rising’s 6-1 romp over Timbers 2, which makes sense.

Lundt up for Save of the Week honors

Ben Lundt is up for USL Championship Save of the Week! It’s hard to argue that he shouldn’t win, but fan votes are fan votes and thus easily skewed. Go vote and skew it his way!
