On Saturday, March 9th, 2024, Louisville City met One Knoxville for the first time. Playing at Lynn Family Stadium in Louisville, the match was a ‘friendly’ in name as it was a final preseason workout for both teams before the respective USL-C and USL-League One 2024 seasons begun. This home warmup gave fans a first public look at the team and the 2024 kits. Lou City may not have controlled possession strongly in the first half but a Wilson Harris goal showed that the boys in purple were looking to win, and kept the pressure on from there. Harris netted a brace and even though Knoxville scored one, it felt like a pretty convincing win for Louisville.
BTW, this match also gave everyone a look at the new smoke stacks at the Estopinal End… and they look great.
